General Information:
We are a long established Sailing Club and Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Centre, based in the picturesque Rickmansworth Aquadrome. Every year we teach several thousand young people and adults to sail and develop their skills. We have:
- 70 modern sailing dinghies (RS200, 420, Laser, Pico, Topper, Wayfarer, Leader, Coypu, Oppie, Funboat, and Laser 2000’s)
- 6 dedicated rescue craft
- Tuition provided by an enthusiastic team of qualified volunteer instructors
- Galley providing light refreshments
Training courses are offered for Adults, Students (up to 24, but in full-time education), Youths (aged 9-16) and also for 7-9s.
Our aim is to make sailing an accessible activity. As a beginner you won’t need any expensive clothing or equipment. On booking a training course you will receive comprehensive joining instructions, and our friendly team will answer any questions you may have. Come and join in the fun!
Accreditation:
- A Royal Yachting Association approved Training Centre
- Approved by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority for dinghy sailing (Call 029 2075 5715 for details)

Membership:
If you are not a member of BLYM, you are required to pay the non-memebers rate for courses. This rate includes 3 months membership of BLYM effective from the first day of your course. This enables you to practice your newly acquired skills at BLYM for 3 months. Alternatively, why not take out full membership? Members of affiliated groups are not considered members of BLYM for the purposes of course tariffs as above.
