To promote the development of young people through the medium of sailing and related activities. Goals
- To provide a safe, well managed environment for the pursuit of our activities.
- To be widely recognised as a good model for the successful operation of a voluntary organisation.
- To provide high quality equipment and stimulating activities.
- To meet or exceed the requirements of relevant governing bodies, notably the Royal Yachting Association and the Adventurous Activity Licensing Authority.
- To make sailing readily accessible to young people, and encourage its pursuit for the development of "life skills".
- To be operationally and financially independent.

- Individual young people, aged up to 24.
- Schools and youth organisations of all types.
- Families.
- Adults wishing to help us further our endeavours.

A programme is published annually to provide appeal to members of all ages, ability levels and interests. General sailing for individuals is available at the following times:
- Saturdays, morning and afternoon sessions, March-November
- Wednesday afternoons, from 4.30 pm, April-October
- Monday-Friday during school holidays, 9.30 - 3.30 each day
- Sunday mornings for racing, from October to March.
The base is available to organised groups at other times where the group can provide appropriately qualified leaders.
