Easter RYA Courses	Posted on 26/02/2010
Bookings are now being taken for the weeks of 6-10 April and 13-17 April. We are offering RYA Young Sailors Start Sailing 1-2, Start Sailing 2-3, Start Sailing 3-4. On the first week only, we are also running adult Level 1-2 and Seamanship & Spinnaker Skills. To book, email courses@blym.org.uk or call 01844 275514.

Private boat berthing	Posted on 26/02/2010
Do you have a boat in the BLYM members boat park? If you have not paid your berthing fee for 2010 please do so, or remove your boat. Unidentified boats have been tagged and will be disposed of, with any proceeds being taken as a donation to club funds. Claim you boat if you do not wish to lose it!

All Group Leaders and Instructor Team Members are invited to attend one of two all-day training sessions on Saturday 17th and Sunday 25th April. You should have received an invitation, but if this has not reached you please contact alan.russell60@virgin.net

Introduction

Bury Lake Young Mariners (BLYM) is a youth charity organisation (Reg no. 1102162) which is used by over 3,500 young people each year. Located in the picturesque Rickmansworth Aquadrome, BLYM is run entirely by over 100 volunteers.

Accreditation

BLYM is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) approved Training Centre. We are also approved by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) for dinghy sailing (Call 029 2075 5715 for details). At BLYM we pride ourselfs on consistently surpassing the safety and operational requirements of these organisations

BLYM Facilities

BLYM boasts a diverse fleet of over 70 modern sailing dinghies including RS200s, 420's, Lasers, Toppers, Wayfarers, Coypus, Funboats and a Challenger Trimaran. We also have 6 powerboats specifically for use as resuce and coaching craft. We have over 100 volunteer instructors including 8 RYA Senior Dinghy Instructors, and numberous RYA Dinghy Instructors, RYA Powerboat Instructors and RYA Assistant Dinghy Instructors.

We also have a galley providing light refreshments, changing rooms with showers, two dinghy storage parks, a workshop, and unlimited use of Bury Lake for dinghy sailing.

Opening Times

The club is open at the following times:

Saturday morning and afternoon, March to November
Wednesday afternoons from 4:30pm till dusk, April to October
Monday to Friday during school holidays 9:30am to 3:30pm except the Christmas holidays
Bank holidays during the summer months
Sunday mornings for members only racing, October to March
